Abomination of Desolation

A Perspective

The Christian King James Bible states in Daniel 12:11 that there will be 1290 days to the Abomination of Desolation, and most Christians acknowledge that a day in prophecy is a year, making this reference to 1290 years.  The Jewish Bible, (Stone edition of the Tanach) specifies in the text of Dan 12:11, ‘From the time the daily offering was removed and the mute abomination put in place, one thousand two hundred and ninety years. Praiseworthy is he that awaits and reaches one thousand three hundred and thirty-five years.’  Both the Christians and the Jews are considering this to be a prophecy of some duration, i.e., 1290 years.  For this perspective, we will consider that 1290 years and the associated 1335 years, provided in the Holy Scriptures.

In this verse quoted, the label ‘mute abomination’ is what has been traditionally called the ‘Abomination of Desolation’, and is the topic of this report. The 1290 year period from the removal of the daily offering i.e., cessation of sacrifice, to the mute abomination (Abomination of Desolation) is either entirely in our future, or we are in the 1290 year period right now, or the 1290 year period is entirely in the past.

We believe the 1290 year period cannot be totally in the future since that would require the world to have 1290 years left in it, and with weapons and environmental concerns where they are at today, nobody seriously believes there is 1290 years left before mankind destroys the planet.

We believe we are not in the 1290 year period right now since that would require that there was a cessation of sacrifice within the last 1290 years, and that is not true. Not only was there no removal of sacrifice, there have been no daily offerings to be removed.

Therefore the 1290 year period spoken of in the Bible must be totally in the past, and being in the past, we can find this period of time because we know when sacrifices have been removed in the past and all we need to do is look at the 1290 year period following each of them. Sacrifices ceased during the period of the Kings, during the lifetime of Daniel, during the period of Antiochus IV, during the reign of Caligula, and at the time of the fall of Jerusalem in the year 70 CE.

1290 years after the sacrifice cessation during the period of the Kings does not bring us to any type of abomination so this cannot be the sacrifice removal referenced in the Bible. This is also true of the time of Antiochus IV, and any time in the first century i.e., 1290 years after any of those events does not bring us to any type of event that could be labeled an Abomination, of any sort, in Jerusalem.

Consequently, only the cessation that occurred during Daniel’s lifetime can be indicated - and it can be understood by simply moving forward 1290 years from the sacrifice cessation date that Daniel, the recipient of the prophecy, knew about, and then we can discover the date of this mute abomination, this great appallment that would occupy a wing of God’s holy hill. Calculating the exact date requires the use of calendar conversions and correctly discerning the sacrifice cessation date, and we provide the details in the report. But even if you use no calendar conversion and miss the sacrifice cessation date by a few years, you will still get close enough to the abomination to recognize it. For example, if you used 587 BCE for the sacrifice cessation date and no calendar conversion, your calculated date would be 1290 - 587 = 703 CE (omitting calendar conversion) which would be a time that is after the appearance of the abomination but within its follow on construction period. Our report does the calculation more accurately, producing the date 691 CE, and also reveals how we determined the 1335 year blessing to be in 2007 CE. We also briefly examine the ramifications of this result to the Jews, Christians and the world. Since there are not many unfulfilled prophecies that can be considered as a blessing to Daniel's people, and it is due to occur soon, Christians and Jews need to do some serious thinking NOW.

If you are Jewish or Christian, you NEED this report along with the next three reports, and so does your Rabbi/Pastor so he can teach his congregation members, and being a download, you could be reading it within five minutes from now. It is not by coincidence that the Abomination of Desolation is on Temple Mount, nor is it a coincidence that the date of its consummation can be calculated accurately, and it is not by coincidence you are here now.
